Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Soccer Rolls To 4-0 Victory Over Coker

Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team (8-2-3, 4-2-2) continued its winning ways down the stretch with a 4-0 shutout victory over Coker (2-8-1, 1-6-1) Wednesday evening in a South Atlantic Conference match at the Moretz Sports – Athletic Complex.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
•    Lenoir-Rhyne scored all four goals in the first half by four players:  senior defender Chris Pitharas (London, ENGLAND), freshman midfielder Victor Cascon (Salamanca, SPAIN), junior defender Ruben Morillas (Pamplona, SPAIN) and junior midfielder Florian Simon (Oberotterbach, GERMANY).
•    The Bears held a 24-8 edge in shots taken while senior Zach King (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) picked up his sixth shutout victory of the year and lowered his goals-against average to 0.72.
 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
•    Lenoir-Rhyne won its third straight contest and improved to 6-0-2 on the year at home.
•    Earlier in the day, Lenoir-Rhyne was ranked seventh in the initial NCAA Division II All-Southeast Regional rankings.

UP NEXT:
In the next round of South Atlantic Conference matches on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m., Lenoir-Rhyne plays No. 24 Wingate in Wingate, N.C., while Coker faces Queens in Charlotte, N.C.
