Salisbury, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team (9-9, 5-7) ended a winless drought against South Atlantic Conference opponents with a 3-0 sweep of Catawba (3-15, 1-13) Tuesday evening at Goodman Gymnasium. The Bears won by scores of 26-24, 25-16 and 25-18.

• The turning point in the match may have come in the first set when the Bears rallied with the final six points after trailing by a 24-20 score.
• Lenoir-Rhyne was led by freshman outside hitter
Taylor Prall (Tipp City, Ohio) with 15 kills while junior setter
Jessica Funk (East Bend, N.C.) added a double-double – 22 assists and 10 digs – in the victory.
• The Bears limited the Indians to just a .080 hitting percentage on the night. Catawba's Micah Ensor (Marietta, Ga.) totaled eight kills and 10 digs in the losing effort.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Lenoir-Rhyne swept the season series against Catawba and snapped a seven-match league regular season losing streak.
• The Bears handed the Indians their 12th consecutive loss.
