Newberry, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team (7-6, 4-4) came up short with a 3-1 defeat to Newberry (7-8, 3-6) Friday night in a South Atlantic Conference match at Eleazer Arena. The Wolves won by scores of 25-20, 25-23, 30-32 and 25-22.

Taylor Prall (Tipp City, Ohio) led the way with 16 kills while senior outside hitter
Brooke Redmond (Statesville, N.C.) added a double-double – 10 kills and 15 digs – in the loss. Lenoir-Rhyne senior defensive specialist
Ashley Markland (Conover, N.C.) added 20 digs as well.
• Newberry was led by Sidra Triplett (Fort Worth, Texas) with a match-high 19 kills and Taylor Garrison (Buford, Ga.) with 50 assists and 16 digs.
• The Bears, the league leader in blocks, added 10 against the Wolves.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Lenoir-Rhyne suffered its fourth straight loss and first league setback on the road.
