Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University's Women's Basketball Team (0-1) fell in the season opener to Barton (1-0), 65-56, in the South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas Tip-off Classic on day one Friday night at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Lenoir-Rhyne junior guard and preseason all-league selection
Madi Suddreth (Taylorsville, N.C.) finished with a team-high 16 points but was lone player to score in double figures for the Bears.
• Despite the loss, the Bears held a 45-41 edge in rebounding and received a near triple-double performance from junior guard
Kendall Toineeta (Cherokee, N.C.). Toineeta totaled nine points, nine rebounds and seven assists on the evening.
• Barton was led by the duo of Alex Kimble (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Dinah Neal (Browns Summit, N.C.) with a combined 49 points. Kimble had 26 points while Neal added 23 points in the victory.

• Tonight's game marked the first contest for Head Coach
Cameron Sealey as the mentor of the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team after her stellar career ended in 2011-12.
