Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Basketball Team (1-1) picked up its first win of the 2017-18 campaign with a 90-79 victory over Mount Olive (0-2) Saturday morning in a high-scoring affair at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• The Bears benefitted from a balanced effort with five players scoring in double digits led by senior guard
Justyce Swango (Virginia Beach, Va.) with 24 points in addition to nine assists and flirted with a double-double.
• Junior guard
Kendall Toineeta (Cherokee, N.C.) added 17 points and junior forward
Madi Suddreth (Taylorsville, N.C.) scored 15 points for the Bears, who broke the contest open with a 31-point third quarter and led by as many as 24 points – 75-51 with 8:24 remaining in the contest – in the win.
• Freshman guard Kennedy Weigt (Manteno, Ill.) came up big for the Bears, scoring 12 points off the bench on four three-pointers.
• Mount Olive lost despite a 41-point, 10-rebound day from Felecity Havens (Wilmington, N.C.).
• The Bears got 22 points from their bench and hit 12 treys on the day.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• The game was part of the South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas Tip-Off Classic and was the first win under new Lenoir-Rhyne mentor
Cameron Sealey.
