Jefferson City, Tenn. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team (8-5, 2-3) saw their four-game winning streak come to an end with an 89-77 setback to No. 6 Carson-Newman (13-0, 6-0) Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action at the Holt Fieldhouse.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• The Bears were led by junior guard
Kendall Toineeta (Cherokee, N.C.) with 17 points while freshman guard
Kennedy Weigt (Manteno, Ill.) added 13 points and three treys in the losing effort.
• Carson-Newman put six players in double figures – led by Briana Smith (Nashville, Tenn.) and Haris Price (Gatlinburg, Tenn.) with 18 points each – and shot 52 percent (34-of-66) for the contest.
• Lenoir-Rhyne was able to rally after falling behind by a 25-9 advantage to start the game. A lay-up by Toineeta to start the second half cut the margin to one point – 36-35 – but the Eagles were able to maintain the advantage the rest of the way.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• The Bears did hold the edge in bench points at 32-16 and were led by senior center
Marie Ritchie (Taylorsville, N.C.) with 10 points and sophomore forward
Karlie Bearden (Dawsonville, Ga.) with seven points and seven rebounds.
