Charlotte, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Swimming Team tied for ninth overall at the 2017 Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships which concluded Saturday at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center. The Bears totaled 329 points overall.
Queens, the 2015 and 2016 NCAA Division II National Champions, won its third straight league championship. The Royals, the second-ranked squad in the nation, held off Wingate by 33.5 points (1,584.5-1,551) to come out on top.
In the women's 200-yard backstroke, sophomore
Alyx Koert (Naples, Fla.) placed 14th overall with a time of 2:11.46. Junior
Laura Dytrt (Mount Airy, Md.) finished 10th in the women's 1,650-yard freestyle (18:45.81).
The meet wraps up the regular season for the Bears and the final competition for a pair of seniors:
Briana Wright (Columbia, S.C.) and
Erin McCann (Charlotte, N.C.).
