Duncan, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team (8-2) swept Converse (0-4) in convincing fashion, 12-0 and 13-0, Wednesday afternoon in a regional doubleheader at Tyger River Park.

Brandi Parks (Roaring River, N.C.) threw a no-hitter and improved to 4-0 on the season with the win. Parks also struck out 11 batters in the contest.

Converse's Marissa Steadman (Roebuck, S.C.) fell to 0-2 on the year after taking the loss.
Game Two – Lenoir-Rhyne 13, Converse 0 (five innings)
The Bears exploded for 10 runs in the top of the second inning on their way to run-ruling the Valkyries.
Kenley had a two-run home run and finished with four runs batted in while sophomore outfielder
Erin Boone (Creedmoor, N.C.) added four hits and two runs scored in the win.
On the mound, sophomore
Ty Triplett (Valdese, N.C.) (2-0) and freshman
Sydney Miller (East Bend, N.C.) combined for the shutout for the Bears. Converse's Kaybriana Spalding (Lexington, S.C.) (0-1) was tagged with the loss.
The Bears return home to host Pfeiffer (Noon) and Augusta (2:00 p.m.) in the Catawba Invitational at Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday while Converse hosts Coker in a doubleheader on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
