Mars Hill, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team (17-11, 13-9) ended the regular season with two straight victories including an 89-50 win over Mars Hill (7-21, 5-17) in the finale Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action at Stanford Arena.

Chelsey Romero (Hampton, Va.) finished with a double-double – 22 points and 13 rebounds – while junior guard
Cassidy Joyner (Dobson, N.C.) added 11 points off the bench as the Bears cruised to the easy win and swept the season series from the Lions.
Mars Hill's Paige Chavis (Lexington, N.C.) finished with a team-high 16 points but the Lions shot just 30 percent (20-of-67) for the contest.
Lenoir-Rhyne notched a season-high in points and shot 58 percent (36-of-62) from the field. In addition, the Bears hit eight three-pointers while 14 players scored.
Lenoir-Rhyne will be the sixth seed in the 2017 South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Championship and will face third-seeded Wingate (22-5, 18-4) in the Quarterfinal Round on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m., in Wingate, N.C.
