Hickory, N.C. – The eighth-ranked Queens University of Charlotte Women's Lacrosse Team (10-2, 5-0) won its sixth consecutive game with a 20-7 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne (9-4, 5-2) Saturday afternoon in a South Atlantic Conference contest at Moretz Stadium.
The Royals' Abigail Paulus (Pickerington, Ohio) led all scorers with six goals while three players – Alexandra Bruder (Ocean City, Md.), Kelly Dowd (Stony Point, N.Y.) and Ally Blood (Jarrettsville, Md.) – all scored three goals for Queens in victory.
Lenoir-Rhyne was led by freshman midfielder
Alyssa Sack (Senoia, Ga.) with three goals while sophomore attacker
Gabby Sousa (Delran, N.J.) scored twice in the loss. Sousa has a team-leading 34 goals on the year.
Queens also held a 40-11 advantage in shots taken while Chase Brokaw (Sykesville, Md.) made three saves in the victory for the Royals. Lenoir-Rhyne junior All-American
Ines Flueck (Coppell, Texas) stopped six shots in the losing effort.
Lenoir-Rhyne faces Florida Southern on Friday, April 14, in Lakeland, Fla., beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Queens hosts Mount Olive at 4:00 p.m., on Wednesday afternoon.
