Aiken, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team (1-0) opened the 2017 campaign with a 3-0 triumph over USC Aiken (0-1) Friday night at Pacer Pit.
Three players – freshman midfielder
Victor Cascon (Salamanca, SPAIN), junior forward
Ignacio de Goya (Madrid, SPAIN) and senior forward
Kevin Nadeau (Morganton, N.C.) – scored for the Bears including Cascon's match-winner 35:20 into the contest.
Lenoir-Rhyne senior forward
Ismael Noumansana (Bamako, SPAIN), last year's South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year, assisted on Nadeau's goal in the 65th minute of the match to round out the scoring.
The Bears held a 10-3 advantage in shots taken while senior goalkeeper
Zach King (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) earned the shutout victory. USC Aiken's Chase Boulton (Gilbert, Ariz.) made two saves but suffered the loss in goal.
Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to take on Lander at the Moretz Sports – Athletic Complex on Sunday at 7:00 p.m., while USC Aiken hosts Savannah College of Art & Design Monday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
