Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Basketball Hails Victorious Over Queens, 65-64

Charlotte, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team (9-9, 3-7) ventured through the cold and came out winners on the road in a South Atlantic Conference game over Queens (4-12, 1-9), 65-64, Thursday afternoon at Curry Arena and the Levine Center.

STATS OF THE GAME:
•    Lenoir-Rhyne junior forward Madi Suddreth (Taylorsville, N.C.) led the Bears with 20 points including the game-winner with :06 seconds left and flirted with a double-double as she added a team-leading eight rebounds. Two fellow Bears - junior guards Kendall Toineeta (Cherokee, N.C.) and Ashley Rodriguez (Orlando, Fla.) - scored in double figures as well with 11 points each.
•   Rodriguez's 11-point performance fueled an impressive 18 points off the bench for Lenoir-Rhyne compared to Queens' 10 points by the reserves.
•    Queens had four players in double figures which included a game-high 26 points from Lade Adepoju (Alicante, SPAIN), 15 points courtesy of Caitlyn Moore (Smyrna, Tenn.) and 11 points from Kristian Eanes (Pittsboro, N.C.).  Mendy McNeese (Greeneville, Tenn.) rounded out the double-digit scoring for the Royals with 10 points.
•   The Bears were dynamic from the floor, shooting the ball at a 64.1 percent clip (25-of-39) throughout the contest including an impressive 57.1 percent (four-of-seven) from long range.
•    The Bears held a 25-22 edge in rebounding and were able to hold on for the victory after leading by as many as 21 points late in the first half and taking a 36-17 lead into intermission. 
 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
•    The Bears snapped a five-game losing streak.                        
•    With the road triumph, LR now owns a 5-3 record away from Shuford Memorial Gymnasium so for the season.         
•    Suddreth's 20 points is the first time she has scored in double figures since Dec. 13, 2017, when she tallied 18 points in a 90-64 road win against Mars Hill.  Suddreth's last 20-point performance was an 82-74 win at Shaw on Dec. 5.

UP NEXT:
Lenoir-Rhyne completes their three-game road trip with a South Atlantic Conference game against Anderson on Saturday at 2 p.m., in Anderson, S.C.  Queens ends their three-game home stand with a date against Tusculum at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 20, as well.
