HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team ended its three-game losing streak with a decisive 3-0 sweep of Coker on Thursday night inside Shuford Gymnasium. With the win, the Bears improve to 6-1 at home.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
• The Bears built a big lead in the first set but Coker clawed back, erasing an 18-9 deficit to even the score at 23. However, the Bears scored the last two points of the set to come away with the 1-0 lead.
• LR would take the next two sets 25-19 and 25-15 to complete the sweep.
• LR featured a balanced attack as three players (
Jaclyn Denny,
Hannah Houston and
Taylor Prall) each finished with nine kills. Denny led the trio with a .500 hitting percentage on the evening.

Helen Hamilton recorded a double-double with 33 assists and 10 digs and fellow freshman
Ashley Hawkins had a career-high five service aces.
• As a team, LR held a 7-1 advantage in blocks and an 8-1 lead in aces.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• Five of LR's six home wins on the season have come by a final score of 3-0. The only home win that lasted longer than three sets was a five-set victory over Queens on September 22.
• The Bears are second in the South Atlantic Conference with 115 service aces on the year.

LR is right back in action tomorrow night as they host the conference-leading Wingate Bulldogs at 7 p.m. The Bears will attempt to hand Wingate their first loss of the season as the Bulldogs sport a perfect 17-0 mark.
