HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team put forth a tremendous effort but fell just short inside Shuford Gymnasium on Friday night. The Bulldogs push their win streak to 18 but had to earn every point tonight.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
• The Bears jumped out to early leads in all four sets. The Bears grabbed 4-1 leads in the first and second set and held a 7-2 advantage in the third. In the final set, LR scored the first six points.
• The turning point came in the second frame. LR led 24-21 but the Bulldogs would score five unanswered points to steal a 26-24 victory and grab the momentum. Despite being down 2-0, the Bears didn't give in and won the third set 25-17.

Angelica Arroyo was the offensive leader, pacing the Bears with 15 kills.
Hannah Houston added 10 and hit .360. Arroyo finished with a double-double as the senior added 10 digs.
• Houston had a stretch with three straight service aces as the junior led a 6-0 run in the third set.
• Phoebe Havenaar led the visitors with a match-high 18 kills and Rachel Alles had 48 assists and 13 digs.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• Wingate is one of two undefeated teams left in the country and has swept the season series from the Bears.
• LR hit a scorching .433 in the third set against one of the top defensive teams in all of Division II.
