HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team is playing possibly its best volleyball of the season, at least since its undefeated start. The Bears took down South Atlantic Conference foe Mars Hill on Tuesday night by the sweeping score of 3-0.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
• The Bears fell behind and fought back in the first two sets, and took control of the third early to sweep the Lions.
•
Angelica Arroyo and
Taylor Prall led the Bears' attack all night long, both recording double-doubles. Arroyo managed 13 kills and 13 digs while Prall led the team with 14 and 15 respectively to go along with three blocks at the net. Arroyo was also extremely efficient with a .476 hitting percentage on the night in addition to Prall's .310.
• A key turning point in securing LR's victory was an 8-0 run to wrap up the first set and take the early lead.
• Abby King, the Lions' setter was instrumental all night for Mars Hill, recording a double-double with 16 assists and 11 digs. She also added four service aces to round out her strong performance. The Bears kept the Lions offense in check, not allowing any player to reach more than seven kills.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• LR appears to be back to playing its best volleyball as it has won two of its past three games, the loss coming to undefeated Wingate.
• This is the ninth sweep of the season for the Bears and they continue impressing the home crowd, increasing their record in "the Shu" to 7-2 on the season. LR's overall, conference, and home win totals have surpassed those of last season.
