Lenoir-Rhyne Announces Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026

HICKORY, N.C. - The 2026 Lenior-Rhyne Athletics Hall of Fame class has been announced, featuring seven athletes, two contributors, and two teams of distinction. 

The Hall of Fame honorees will be honored at an awards ceremony set to take place on Saturday, September 19th, prior to the Lenoir-Rhyne vs. Mars Hill football game.

Cameron Sealey-Flachofsky '12 - Women's Basketball
Cameron Sealey-Flachofsky is the winningest women's basketball player in Lenoir-Rhyne's NCAA Division II era, going 81-35 during her four-year career. She was a four-year starter and two-year captain, leading the Bears to the 2009 SAC Tournament Championship and two NCAA Tournament appearances, including the program's first ever NCAA Tournament victory. She is scattered all over the Lenoir-Rhyne record books, ranking fifth in career three pointers made (136), sixth in career free throw percentage (.796), and ninth in career points (1,493). A three-time All-SAC honoree, she was named to the All-Conference first team in both 2011 and 2012, the second team in 2010, and was on the All-Freshman team in 2009.

Following a few years as an assistant coach with multiple programs, Sealey was announced as the youngest coach in NCAA Division II when she took the Lenoir-Rhyne head coaching job in 2017. Her 2018-19 team qualified for the program's first SAC semi-final appearance in five years. Following her time at LR, Sealey-Flachofsky was an assistant on the 2020-21 Belmont Abbey squad that made an NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearance. Sealey-Flachofsky currently works for Safeway Traffic Control and spends time as a Gathering House Leader & Speaker, an FCA Leader, and Salvation Army volunteer. 

Haily Jarman '14 - Softball
Hailey Jarman is described by Shena Hollar as "The best third base I have ever coached." During her four years as a Bear, Jarman's Lenoir-Rhyne teams went 170-54, winning three SAC Regular season and three SAC Tournament championships. Jarman and the Bears competed in the NCAA Tournament all four years of her career and made a run to the Super Regionals in 2011. 

Jarman was a four time All-SAC honoree, being named ot the second team in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and the first team in 2014. A three time All-Region honoree, she was named to the All-NFCA First Team Southeast Region in 2012 and 2014. Jarman ranks in Lenoir-Rhyne's career top ten in ten different categories and is the Bears' all-time leader in assists with 495. She ranks second in triples (14), fifth in total bases (430), and seventh in slugging percentage (.621). In addition to her prowess at the plate, Jarman was a great middle-infielder, committing only 28 errors in 224 games played. 

Jarman is currently a teacher, assistant softball coach, and director of football operations at West Stanly County schools. She stays active in the softball community, hosting softball camps for local youth in the summer. In addition to softball, Jarman is a youth leader at New Home Baptist Church Youth Group. 

Chrissy Elliott '96 - Women's Basketball
Chrissy Elliott was a four-sport athlete at Lenoir-Rhyne, playing soccer, basketball, softball, and tennis. A four year starter on the women's basketball team, Elliott never missed a game, earning All-SAC second team honors in 1995-96. She ranks 12th all-time with 1,306 career points, ninth with 322 assists, and ninth with 201 steals. On the softball field, Elliott became the first Bear to win SAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year when she took home that award in 1996. That 1996 season saw her be named to the GTE Academic All-America Third Team. A four-year starter, Elliot never missed a game and was named team captain her senior year. That year she led the team in batting average, hits, runs, and stolen bases.

While playing women's soccer, Elliott was a starting defender for teams that had a combined record of 33-20-3. On the tennis court, Elliot played four years for the Bears, primarily at the No. 1 doubles and No. 3 singles positions. After completing her undergraduate degree, Elliott stayed at Lenoir-Rhyne to become the women's basketball graduate assistant coach, enrolling in Lenoir-Rhyne's inaugural Masters of Business Administration program. 

Following her time at Lenoir-Rhyne, Elliott made a name for herself , working for the Disney Corporation at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. There she held titles such as Sports Competition Coordinator, Senior Competition Coordinator, Sports Event Manager, and Senior Sports Manager. In 2006 she was awarded Disney's Partner in Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award as the top 1% in guest satisfaction, cast excellence, and business results. Currently, Elliott is the Senior Director of Operations for Florida Citrus Sports, a not-for-profit event management organization dedicated to positively impacting the Orlando region while enhancing the quality of life in Central Florida through world class events. 

Tanner Botts '15 - Football
Tanner Botts was one of the most feared defensive players in Lenoir-Rhyne football history. The Bears went 40-9 during his three years on the squad, winning three SAC Championships, qualifying for three NCAA Tournaments, and made an appearance in the national championship game in 2013. He is scattered all over the Lenoir-Rhyne football record book, ranking second in career forced fumbles (7), third in career tackles (385), and seventh in career TFL (36). His 134 tackles in 2013 are ninth in program history and his 25 total tackles against Carson-Newman in the second round of the NCAA Playoffs are an NCAA Division II Playoff record. Botts was a three-time All-SAC honoree, a two-time All-American, and was the 2014 SAC Defensive Player of the Year. In addition to his exploits on the football field, Botts was a four-year member of the Men's Lacrosse team, helping lead them to a SAC Regular Season Championship in 2014. 

Following his playing career, Botts worked as a strength and conditioning intern at The Citadel before returning to Hickory to become a graduate assistant with the football team. He spent time as a Special Education Paraprofessional with the Fulton County School District and as a Physical Education Teacher in the Gwinnett County public school system. Botts currently lives in Columbus, Georgia, with his wife Leah and daughter Lucy. 

Reggie Bratton '08 - Men's Basketball
Reggie Bratton was a four year member of the Lenoir-Rhyne men's basketball team, guiding them to two SAC Regular Season Championships and the program's first NCAA Tournament victory in 2008. He ranks 17th all-time with 1,418 points and led the team in scoring during his junior and senior seasons. Bratton was a two-time Preseason All-America selection, a Second Team All-Region and First Team All-SAC honoree during the 2007-08 season, and was named to the SAC All-Freshman team in 2004-05. During his senior season Lenoir-Rhyne went 23-7, at the time the most wins by a Lenoir-Rhyne team in their NCAA Division II era. 

Bratton went on to have a lengthy professional career following his time at Lenoir-Rhyne. He averaged over 15.0 ppg six times as a professional, highlighted by a 27.9 ppg season while competing with Namika Lappenranta in the FInish First Division in 2016-17. He is the eighth all-time leading single season ppg scoring in British Basketball league history (25.3 ppg), was a Moroccan League All Star and Dunk Contest and 3-Point Contest participant in 2011-12, and won the Finnish First Division A Championship with UU-Korihait Uusikaupunki in 2015-16, all while being named All-League.

Bratton currently resides in Salisbury, North Carolina, where he is the Owner and General Manager of RNB Transport NC, a furniture/appliance delivery company. 

Demetrius Green '12 - Football
Demetrius Green was a three time All-Conference selection and the 2011 SAC Defensive Player of the Year, demonstrating elite performance and discipline throughout this career. The linebacker finished his career with 291 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and a pair of interceptions. During that 2011 season, Green led the team with 77 total tackles (51 solo, 21 asst.) and was tops with 8.0 tackles for loss. 

Green played in 40 games during his distinguished Bear career, helping lead Lenoir-Rhyne to their first ever NCAA playoff victory against Fort Valley State in 2012. He was a team captain in both 2011 and 2012. His leadership was instrumental in turning the Bears into a national power, going from a 5-6 record his freshman year to a 9-3 mark during his senior year. 

Demetrius, his wife Heather, and their four kids currently reside in Cedartown, Georgia, where he is a Warehouse Operations Manager for the Target Corporation. 

Jarrod Spears '15 - Football
Jarrod Spears is one of the most lethal running backs in Lenoir-Rhyne football history. The Bears went 40-9 during his time on the squad, winning three SAC Championships, qualifying for three NCAA Tournaments, and made an appearance in the national championship game in 2013. He was part of a rushing offense that led the nation in yards per game for two straight seasons The 2014 team held the NCAA record for yards per game at 416.3 until it was broken this past season. 

Spears holds the Lenoir-Rhyne single season record for all-purpose yards, compiling 1,886 yards during that historic 2013 campaign. For his career, Spears is fourth in all-purpose yards (4,566) and sixth in kickoff return yardage (1,335). He led the team in rushing yards in 2012 and 2013 and ranks third all-time with 11 game of 100+ yards of rushing yards. His 718 kickoff return yards in 2013 is third in program history. He was a three-time All-SAC First Team honoree and finished his career with 2,971 yards rushing, which is ninth in program history. Spears was also a member of the Lenoir-Rhyne Track & Field team, winning a SAC Championship in the 100 meter dash in 2014 and a Southeast Regional Championship in the 4x100 meter relay in 2013. 

Following his time as an athlete, Spears earned his Masters of Business Administration in Business Analytics and Information Technology; Innovation and Change Management from Lenoir-Rhyne in 2018. Since 2015 he has worked as a Storage Engineer at IBM in Raleigh. 

Ben Bundy '71 - Contributor
Ben Bundy played football at Lenoir-Rhyne from 1966-1971, playing the role of fullback, middle linebacker, blocking back, punter, and holder. He wore four different jersey numbers - #32, #11, #15, #16 - reflecting his adaptability and evolving responsibility within the program. He was a team captain in 1970, the winner of the Carolina Conference Kirkland Blocking Trophy (1970), and a recipient of Coach Hanley Painter's prestigious Lee Kirby Award (1970). 

Bundy has been a dedicated supporter of Lenoir-Rhyne athletics his whole life. He joined the Bears Club in 2006 and served the organization in various leadership roles, including Executive Council member of the Bears Club, Co-Chair of their first fundraising raffle, Chair of the Membership Committee, Bears Club President (2015-17), Vice PResdient of the Executive Council (2021), and is currently the Chariman of the Nominations Committee. His decades of volunteer leadership have strenghened alumni engagement and financial support for Lenoir-Rhyne athletics, directly benefiting generations of student-athletes. 

Following graduation, Bundy began a successful career with Lowe's Companies, Inc. At 26 he became one of the youngest store managers in company history and in 1980, while managing a Charlotte, North Carolina Store, he oversaw an experimental initiative that launched Lowe's first Garden Center. After retiring from Lowe's in 1989, Bundy co-founded The Building Center North Mecklenburg, Inc., helping grow The Building Center, Inc. into the largest family-owned building material supplier in North Carolina before retiring again in 2003. He later partnered with former Lenoir-Rhyne teammates Chris Ripple and Roger Maxey to form Bear Builders LLC, constructing custom homes in West Jefferson, North Carolina. In 2007, one of their homes received the North Carolina Home Builders Association's "Best in Class" award for homes valued between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Bundy also served as President of the Statesville Home Builders Association (2007-2008), leading the organization to its largest membership and coordinating the construction of a donated home for a military veteran using fully donated materials. Ben is married to Jane Stack Bundy whom he met at Lenoir-Rhyne. They have three children and nine grandchildren.

Frank Pait - Contributor
Frank Pait is the winningest coach in Lenoir-Rhyne baseball history, holding that title by over 100 wins. He won 291 games as the Bear skipper, leading them to three SAC Championships and the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2001. 

During the 2001 season Pait became just the second Lenoir-Rhyne baseball coach to win the SAC Coach fo the Year Award after leading the Bears to a SAC regular season and tournament championship. During his 11 years at the helm, Pait coached 33 All-SAC honorees, six All-South Region performers, two SAC Freshman of the Year, and one SAC Player of the Year. His 2006 team still holds the school record with 25 triples in a single season. 

Following his time with the Bears he founded the Catawba Valley Community College baseball program, leading them from 2009-14 and racking up 188 victories. In 2024, Pait was inducted into the Catawba County Sports Hall of Fame.

1980-81 Women's Basketball - Team of Distinction
Led by legendary Bears coach Pat Smith, the Lenoir-Rhyne 1980-81 women's basketball team made history, winning the NCAIAW State Championship, the AIAW Region II Tournament Championship, and advancing to the AIAW Division II/Small College Final Four. This team featured five current Lenoir-Rhyne Hall of Famers, including all-time leading scorer Brenda Hairston. 

The Bears finished with a 27-8 record that season and set a new program record with 17 wins inside Shuford Arena. They still hold program records for points in a game (121), and field goals (1,178) and field goal attempts (2,481) in a single season. They scored 100+ points five times that season, a record that stood until the 2025-26 version of the Bears did it six times. This team was part of a five year stretch that saw Lenoir-Rhyne win more games than any women's collegiate team in North Carolina, including threes straight NCAIAW State Titles. 

1975 Football - Team of Distinction
The 1975 football team owns the title of the first SAC Championship in conference history. Led by Hall of Fame head coach Jack Huss, the Bears went 7-3-1 on the season and an undefeated 6-0-1 in conference play. This team featured seven All-Conference performers, three All-District performers, and Scott Crawford, who was the inaugural SAC Offensive Player of the Year and an NAIA All-American at the tailback position. 

In a 69-14 win over Davidson, the Lenoir-Rhyne rushing attack set an All-College division record with 837 rushing yards, a mark that still stands today. Their 914 yards of total offense was an all-divisions record until 2023.
