Winning Streak Comes To An End As Volleyball Falls To Anderson

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Anderson on Tuesday evening. The loss gives Anderson the tie-breaker over LR thanks to the season sweep of the Bears.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
•    After being named the South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, Angelica Arroyo once again led the Bears with 13 kills. The senior has topped the double-digit kill mark in six straight. 
•    Taylor Prall added 11 kills for the Bears and had four digs. 
•    LR had trouble stopping Jayln Knight who tallied 19 kills and a .500 hitting percentage. 
•    Freshman setter Helen Hamilton narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with 30 assists and nine digs. 
•    In a 25-21 set one victory, LR hit .370 as a team but followed that up with hitting percentages of .045, .029 and .075 the rest of the way. 

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
•    Anderson held a 79-61 advantage in digs and a 57-39 edge in kills. 
•    The Bears have dropped to fourth place in the league standings, a half game behind Mars Hill. However, the Bears beat the Lions earlier in the season and hold the tie-breaker.
•    With her two blocks tonight, Madison Asher is tied for third in the SAC with 59 blocks on the season.
