Fifth-Ranked Florida Tech Women’s Lacrosse Downs Lenoir-Rhyne, 16-5

Melbourne, Fla. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team (2-6) wrapped up a three-game road trip against No. 5 Florida Tech (9-0) on Friday evening at Panther Stadium and came away with a 16-5 loss.

STATS OF THE GAME:
•    The Bears were led by junior attacker Gabby Sousa (Delran, N.J.), who scored four goals in the loss. Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore attacker Cathleen Gaffney (Allentown, Pa.) added one late goal of her own.   
•    Florida Tech was paced by Leah Dunn (Arnold, Md.) with a game-high six goals and four ground balls in the contest. 
•    With the home field advantage, came the shot advantage. Florida Tech took 41 shots, 28 of which were on goal. The Panthers held the Bears to 13 shots (12 on goal).
•    Lenoir-Rhyne senior All-American goalkeeper Ines Flueck (Coppell, Texas) took the loss despite saving eight shots and picking up four ground balls.  Stephanie Stuart (Palm Coast, Fla.) earned the win for the Panthers in goal.  Stuart stopped seven shots on the evening.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
•    Sousa – who leads the team in goals scored with 26 this year – also has four contests so far this spring with at least four or more scores. 
•    The Panthers are 7-0 at home this year. 

UP NEXT:
Lenoir-Rhyne returns home for a game on Sunday as the Bears take on South Atlantic Conference-foe Tusculum at 4:00 p.m., inside the friendly confines of Moretz Stadium.  Florida Tech hosts top-ranked Florida Southern on Saturday, March 24, at 4:00 p.m., in a national and Sunshine State Conference showdown.
