Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team (10-1, 4-0), ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division II, defeated Newberry (4-6, 0-3) by a 17-4 score on Saturday afternoon in a South Atlantic Conference game at Moretz Stadium.

STATS OF THE GAME:
•    The Bears were led by freshman attacker Myles Moffat (Airdie, Alberta, CANADA) and senior attacker Will Remsen (Baldwin, N.Y.) with three goals each.  Remsen scored his first three goals of the season.
•    Newberry did hold a 42-40 advantage in shots taken despite the 13-goal setback. 
•    Lenoir-Rhyne senior goalkeeper Damon Cummins (Lancaster, Pa.) earned his first victory after making eight saves in three periods of action.  Junior Eddie Schoenig (Brewster, N.Y.) added six stops in the last stanza for the Bears while Newberry's Erick Szurley (Holbrook, N.Y.) took the loss in goal.  Szurley made seven saves on the afternoon.
 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
•    Lenoir-Rhyne has won 20 straight South Atlantic Conference regular season games dating back three years and has won 33 of their last 37 contests dating back to the start of the 2016 campaign.
•    Ten players found the back of the net for the Bears.
•    Newberry is in its first year as an intercollegiate men's lacrosse program.
