Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team (21-12) won big in a mid-week regional contest over Augusta University (9-22), 15-4, Tuesday evening at Bears Field.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Lenoir-Rhyne was led by redshirt freshman third baseman
Will Jones (Clayton, N.C.) with four hits and three runs batted in while junior catcher
Zack Shoemaker (Colfax, N.C.) hit his second home run of the year to lead the Bears to the win.
• After falling behind by a 2-0 score in the opening frame, the Bears took control with 10 straight runs to turn the contest into a rout. LR was also aided by three Jaguar errors which led to seven unearned runs.
• LR sophomore
Alex Shirazi (Charlotte, N.C.) (1-1) earned the win in relief as the Bears used seven pitchers on the night.
• Augusta's Zack Goble (Blackshear, Ga.) drove in two runs but Jordan Kelly (Lilburn, Ga.) fell to 1-1 after taking the loss.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• The Bears are one win away from tying last year's victory total.
• Lenoir-Rhyne scored in every inning but one in the win.
