LR Baseball Suffers Road Setback, 12-2 To Lincoln Memorial To Open Series

Harrogate, Tenn. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team (21-13, 9-7) fell to Lincoln Memorial (22-10, 8-8) by a 12-2 score in a South Atlantic Conference contest Friday at Hennon Field.

STATS OF THE GAME:
•    Lincoln Memorial's Dalton Dedas (Louisville, Ky.) hit a two-run home run and Joe Stucky (Powell, Tenn.) added a three-run round-tripper to power the Railsplitters to the victory.  Stucky finished with four runs batted in for Lincoln Memorial, who registered 18 hits in the contest.
•    Lenoir-Rhyne junior outfielder Aaron Stamper (Clemmons, N.C.) gave the visitors a short-lived 1-0 advantage with an RBI single in the top of the first inning.  Junior outfielder Justin Dean (Mauldin, S.C.) added three hits despite the loss for the Bears.
•    On the mound, Lincoln Memorial's Ethan Elliott (Knoxville, Tenn.) improved to 5-2 after allowing an unearned run over eight innings of work to go along with eight strikeouts.  Lenoir-Rhyne junior Hunter Martin (Stanfield, N.C.) fell to 1-4 after taking the loss.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
•    Lenoir-Rhyne still has a chance to claim its fifth conference weekend series of the year with a pair of wins on Saturday.
•    The Bears' pitchers have hit the 300-strikeout mark for the year.
•    Dean continues to lead the team in batting average (.366) this season.

UP NEXT:
The two teams will wrap up the league series with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
