Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team (25-16) scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to pull out an exciting, 9-8 victory over Erskine (23-17) Tuesday evening in a non-conference regional affair at Bears Field.

STATS OF THE GAME:
•    Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore shortstop Corbin Watson (Eden, N.C.) drove in the game-winning run – junior pinch runner Grant Fuller (Simpsonville, S.C.) – in the bottom of the ninth inning with one out with an RBI single up the middle.
•    Watson, senior outfielder Marcus Shoemaker (Colfax, N.C.) and senior third baseman Tripp Hamrick (Ellenboro, N.C.) all drove in a pair of runs for the Bears.  Lenoir-Rhyne senior Landon Whitson (Marion, N.C.) improved to 3-1 after retiring the final five Erskine batters to take the win.
•    Drew Yniesta (North Charleston, S.C.) hit a bases-clearing triple and drove in four runs for the Fleet, who fought back from a 6-1 deficit to tie the contest at eight despite the loss.  Erskine's Grayson King (Bethune, S.C.) fell to 3-3 after taking the setback.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
•    Lenoir-Rhyne improved to 14-7 at home this year.
