No. 3 LR Men’s Lacrosse Clinches Share Of SAC Championship, 14-6 Over Mars Hill

Mars Hill, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team (14-1, 7-0), ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division II, claimed at least a share of its third straight South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship with a 14-6 triumph over Mars Hill (1-12, 0-7) Saturday afternoon at the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.

STATS OF THE GAME:
•    Lenoir-Rhyne was led by sophomore midfielder Eric Dickinson (Charlotte, N.C.), who totaled four goals on the afternoon while freshman midfielder Myles Moffat (Airdie, Alberta, CANADA) added a score and six assists in the victory.
•    Dickinson scored the game's first three goals just three minutes into the contest as the Bears raced to a 5-0 advantage and never looked back.  LR held the edge in both shots taken (45-27) and ground balls (39-34) in the win.
•    In goal, Lenoir-Rhyne senior Ryan Crompton (Frederick, Md.) stopped nine shots for the victory while Mars Hill's Ryan Kearney (Tallahassee, Fla.) made 13 saves but took the setback.
•    Jake Trafton (Wilmington, N.C.) scored twice for the Lions, who suffered their ninth straight loss.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
•    Lenoir-Rhyne won its 10th straight game and 23rd consecutive South Atlantic Conference Regular Season contest.
•    The Bears are also 6-0 on the road this year and 37-4 in their last 41 games.  Lenoir-Rhyne added to its single-season record win total (14) as well.
•    With two goals and two assists, Lenoir-Rhyne junior attacker Joe Buduo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) increased his school single-season record totals to 54 goals and 76 points.  Buduo leads the league in goals scored as well.
•    Lenoir-Rhyne has claimed four league regular season titles:  2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

UP NEXT:
Lenoir-Rhyne will look to wrap up its third consecutive South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship outright on Saturday, April 21, at 2:00 p.m., when the Bears host Coker for Senior Day.  Mars Hill travels to Newberry, S.C., to take on Newberry in a league contest next Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
