HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team cruised to a 3-0 sweep of Catawba inside Shuford Gymnasium on Friday night. The win pulls the Bears above .500 in league play at 3-2 and brings their season mark to 9-3.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
• For the second consecutive match, junior
Hannah Houston paced the Bears with a match-high 11 kills. Houston, who finished with a career-high 17 kills in LR's 3-2 win over Mars Hill on Tuesday night, also led LR with a .345 hitting percentage.
• For the fourth time this season, senior
Angelica Arroyo finished with double-digit kills, posting an even 10 on the night. Arroyo added eight digs and a service ace.
• Senior setter
Jessica Funk handed out 33 assists on the night and finished with a double-double, adding 10 digs. Funk was instrumental in the Bears closing out the third set as she served four straight crucial points down the stretch.
• LR's .265 hitting percentage as a team was their second-best mark on the year. The Bears hit .300 in a three set win over Fayetteville St. on Sept. 1.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• The win puts LR in fourth place in the league standings, one game ahead of tomorrow's opponent Queens.
• Of Lenoir-Rhyne's nine wins this season, six have come in straight-sets.
