HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team outlasted an upset bid from Queens to come away with a 3-2 win. The Bears have now won three straight and have reached double-digits in wins on the season.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
• The Bears dropped the first set 25-18 before rallying to take a back-and-forth second set, 25-23. The teams split sets three and four and Queens held a 9-6 lead in the fifth set before the Bears rallied to win 15-13.
• The offense ran through
Angelica Arroyo who led the Bears with 15 kills and 58 total attempts. Arroyo added 14 digs for her second double-double of the season.

Jaclyn Denny was outstanding in the game, finishing with nine kills and nine total blocks. Denny now has 239 total blocks on her career and is just outside the top-10 in program history.
• Five Bears finished in double figures in digs led by stellar freshman
Ashley Hawkins who had 27.
Bailey Cloninger added 17,
Jessica Funk had 15, Arroyo totaled 14 and
Hannah Houston had 11. Funk would finish with a double-double as she handed out 36 assists on the day.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• The Bears were able to come away with a victory despite hitting .069 as a team, the second-worst total on the year. The 33 errors were a season-high for the Bears.
• LR finished with a season-high 102 digs and the 28 blocks were the second-most in 2018.
• Queens was paced by Casey Tarvin who finished with a match-high 19 kills and .213 hitting percentage.
