Bears Sweep Tusculum To Win Fourth Straight

HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team overcame a sluggish start to sweep visiting Tusculum on Friday evening. The Bears started slow but came away with a momentum-shifting 30-28 win in the first set before cruising to victory,

STATS OF THE MATCH:
•    Senior outside hitter Angelica Arroyo tied her career high with 18 kills on the night. However, the last time Arroyo finished with 18 kills came in a five-setter against UNC Pembroke. The senior needed just three sets to rack up 18 this evening.
•    Arroyo hit .457 on the night and totaled eight digs and three total blocks. 
•    As a team, LR hit .288, compared to .096 by the visitors. 
•    Helen Hamilton recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 38 assists and 11 digs in her first game back from injury.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
•    The Bears topped their win total from all of last season with tonight's win. 
•    Madison Asher entered the game ranked third in the South Atlantic Conference in blocks and added five more to her total. 
•    Cassie Born and Carli Pigza each finished with nine kills for the Pioneers. 

UP NEXT:
LR wraps up its four-game homestand on Saturday afternoon when they host Lincoln Memorial at 2 p.m.
