HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Tennis Team started the season with a 7-0 victory over Lees-McRae.

Rhodri Atkinson and Josh Lazenby led the Bears in No.1 Doubles def. Popovic/Wang 6-3. Alex Hyman/Eric van Nunen also contributed in No. 2 doubles winning a nail-biter 7-6.

Van Nunen and Tales Miranda dominated the on the singles side only allowing a set a piece to their opponents. Lewis Scott defeated Popovic 6-1,6-4 for the decisive win that put the Bobcats away.

"They have put in a lot of work and it is definitely showing," said Head Coach Jesse Tarr. "Lees-McRae is a tough, well-coached team. We had to play well from start to finish."
