Hickory, N.C. – Both Lenoir-Rhyne and Mount Olive had the bats hot in game three of the series on Sunday, but it was the Bears who would come up short in the 14-8 nonconference loss on Sunday. The Trojans went home with a road sweep in regional action.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Both the Bears and Trojans knocked out one grand slam each, one by
Mike McHugh for Lenoir-Rhyne and the other was Joe Mason from Mount Olive.
• Each position player for Lenoir-Rhyne earned a hit in the game, with two leading the way with two each.
Clayton Jeffries and
Zack Shoemaker each went 2-for-5, but Jeffries added two runs batted in.
• Neither starter,
Jake Conroy or Hunter Britt, made it through inning four and each got a no decision, being bailed out by their team's offense. Mount Olive's Caleb Irwin earned the win as he worked 6.1 innings without giving up an earned run on three hits, one walk and four strikeouts.

Kevin LaRosa took the loss for the Bears, giving up five runs, three of them earned, without recording an out.
• The Trojans were led by Mason, who went 2-for-4, was responsible for the grand slam and walked twice in his chances at the plate.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Lenoir-Rhyne has now lost five in-a-row and is winless at home.
• The eight runs scored in this one is a season-high just seven games in and this was the first grand slam of the year.
