Clearwater, Fla. – On day two of the NFCA Classic, the No. 19 Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team defeated Eckerd but then fell to No. 22 Valdosta St. on Saturday afternoon.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

STATS OF GAME ONE:
• The Bears broke a scoreless tie with a four spot in the top of the fifth inning and cruised to victory. The Bears pushed across all nine runs from the fifth inning on and pounded out 12 hits.

Erin Boone doubled in the first run of the game and came home on a
Savannah Moorefield triple. Moorefield would add another RBI in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly.
•
Kylee Leonhardt and
Hannah Jennings each drove in a pair of runs for the Bears and
Cassie Healy scored twice.
•
Brandi Parks earned her second win of the season in the circle, tossing a complete game 5-hitter. Parks struck out nine batters on the day.
STATS OF GAME TWO:
• In game two, it was Valdosta St. who broke a 0-0 tie in the fifth as they pushed across three runs and scored all six of their runs from the fifth inning on.
•
Emily Kenley was saddled with her second loss of the year after allowing two earned runs in 5.1 innings pitched. Kenley struck out five batters and issued just one free pass.
• LR was held to three hits on the day and struck out nine times.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Valdosta St. is a perfect 7-0 on the young season.
• The Bears drop to 1-3 at the NFCA Classic.
