BELMONT, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team took advantage of mistakes, scoring an efficient seven runs on seven hits, but it was not enough as the Bears fell to Belmont Abbey, 11-7, in the first of two midweek games this week.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Lenoir-Rhyne and Belmont Abbey fed off each other's mistakes as both teams combined for seven errors and 18 walks.
• The Bears were led at the plate by
Caleb Beatty (2-for-3, two walks) and
Zack Shoemaker (2-for-5) while
Grant Fuller managed a two-RBI double, accounting for two of the visiting team's five runs barred in on the night.
• Lenoir-Rhyne starter
Brett Fulk took the loss, giving up six earned runs with just three hits given up and five free passes and he did not make it out of the second inning. His season record dropped to 2-1 on the season.
• The Crusaders got a big night at the plate from catcher Zach Aehlert who finished with two base hits and four RBIs while Mason Dodd recorded a base knock with two more RBIs added to the box score.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• The Bears and Crusaders have met up twice now this season and have split the contests, 1-1. There will be another game tomorrow and two more times in Hickory this season.

Kain Kiser was impressive in his 2.0 innings of work as he struck out a new season-high five batters in tonight's outing.
