HICKORY, N.C. – Playing for the second straight night against Conference Carolinas foe Belmont Abbey, the Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team pushed across 12 runs to take a 12-8 victory and take a 2-1 series lead against the Crusaders in 2019.

Hunter Jackson led the Bears at the plate with three hits, two doubles and a pair of runs driven in on Wednesday evening. Jackson added three runs scored in the game.
Grant Fuller and
Caleb Beatty joined Jackson with two runs batted in for the game.
Will Jones drew a season-high three walks.
• The Bears sent
Matt Ranson out to start the game and worked around a bases loaded jam in the first by striking out three straight batters.
Michael Allen came onto the mound in relief, earning his first win of the season after working 4.0 innings, giving up just one run and three hits plus fanning four batters in the process.
• Belmont Abbey was led at the plate in the top of the order by Richard DeLaCruz, who finished 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored. Hitters one through five in the lineup went 8-for-16 (.500) in the game. Ben Gobbel, Mason Dodd and Derrick Dabney each finished with two RBIs on the night.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Lenoir-Rhyne has now scored 10 or more runs six times this season and are undefeated when doing so.
• With the win the Bears snapped their four-game losing skid.
