AMERICUS, Ga. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team fell in game one of a weekend series against Georgia Southwestern 7-2 while taking game two 9-4. The Bears will look to take the series in game three tomorrow.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

STATS OF GAME ONE:
• LR was limited to one run in the fifth and one in the sixth, and the Bears only managed four hits, three from
Clayton Jeffries and one from the leadoff batter
Grant Fuller.
• The Bears struck out seven times and left four on base while Georgia Southwestern also struck out seven times but stranded nine in the win.
• Lenoir-Rhyne junior
Alex Shirazi earned the start and went 5.2 innings, taking the loss while giving up seven earned runs and striking out three.
Kevin LaRosa worked the final 3.1 for LR.
• Tucker Smith worked a complete game, earning his seventh win while giving up two runs on four hits with seven strikeouts.
• The home team racked up 15 hits with their top two hitters in the lineup recording a combined six hits, three runs batted in and three runs scored.
STATS OF GAME TWO:
• This time it was the Bears' turn to have the hot bats, with an efficient nine runs on nine hits. LR was led by shortstop
Will Jones, who finished the game 3-for-6. Fuller was superb in game two, knocking in two RBIs and scoring two runs in the game.
• Lenoir-Rhyne sent out
Paul Hall to the mound to start the game. He earned his fourth win of the season as he worked 7.1 innings with two earned runs on two hits, four walks and nine strikeouts.
Nolan Flachofsky wrapped up the final 1.2 innings without giving up a hit or a run.
• The top two spots in the home team's lineup drove in all four RBIs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Hall has fanned at least nine batters in all three of his past outings.
• This is the second-straight doubleheader the Bears have split.
