Men's Lacrosse Moves Win Streak to Five With 11-6 Win at Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C.  – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team ran its winning streak to five games with a regular-season ending 11-6 victory at Coker on Saturday afternoon. Ryan Bell scored four times for the Bears and Joe Buduo netted a hat trick as LR turns its sights on the SAC Tournament next week.

STATS OF THE GAME:
•  After Coker took an early 2-1 lead in the first quarter, Edward Tate scored the equalizer before Bell and Buduo took over. The duo combined to score the next four goals in the game as LR extended the lead to 6-2. 
•  The Bears would take a 7-3 lead into the break, allowing just one goal in the second quarter. Evan Torris opened the scoring in the second half and extended the Bears lead to 8-3 before Bell completed his hat trick with 5:28 left in the third quarter. 
•  The Bears defense held Coker to just 23 shots on the afternoon and the offense pressured the goalie. LR recorded 64 shots in 60 minutes of action and forced Coker into 26 turnovers. The hosts went just 19-for-30 on clear attempts and LR absolutely dominated in ground balls, leading 47-15.  
•  Patrick Sullivan went 17-for-20 on face offs and scooped up eight ground balls. Connor Stanley finished with six ground balls and three caused turnovers and Christian Starcke forced four turnovers. 
 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
•    The Bears have outscored opponents 81-20 in their five game winning streak.
•    The Bears have won five straight over Coker, with three coming by double digits. 
 
UP NEXT:
The Bears will host a SAC Tournament Quarterfinal game on Tuesday against Newberry. Face off is set for 7 p.m.
