Women's Lacrosse Surges Through SAC Semifinals, Awaits Queens in SAC Championship

WINGATE, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team used the one-two punch of Rachel Elmore and Alyssa Sack, who combined for 11 goals, to take down Lincoln Memorial in the South Atlantic Conference Semifinals, 16-8, on Friday afternoon. The Bears now get set to take on top-ranked Queens in the tournament Championship on Sunday.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Elmore continued to be a scoring-machine for the Bears, tallying six goals. The White Plains, Md native was also won eight draw controls and caued four turnovers. Sack put in a five goals in the tournament victory, her season-high six goals came earlier in the year against LMU.
• Sack was the assist leader with two, but five different Bears had passes leading to a goal for Lenoir-Rhyne.  
• Teanna Sieben, the freshman SAC Honorable Mention Team member, earned the win in goal playing over 40 minutes, giving up just three goals and collecting eight saves.
• Lenoir-Rhyne dominated in shots on goal (23-17), caused 18 Railsplitters turnovers and were efficient with 22 successful clear attempts in the game.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Elmore's first goal of the game was number 50 on the season. This was her fifth game scoring five or more goals this season.
• Sieben has had success in both games against LMU this season, as she has given up four goals in two appearances to the Railsplitters.
•  The Bears will compete for the SAC Championship Tournament title for the second-straight season against the Royals.
 
UP NEXT:
The Bears have seen this before, as Lenoir-Rhyne has a date with the Queens Royals for the right to be crowned 2019 South Atlantic Conference Tournament Champions on Sunday. Start time is set as the repeat matchup from 2018 will begin at 1 p.m.
