Taylor Prall tied a career-high with 22 kills as the Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team defeated Catawba 3-1 on Tuesday evening in their home opener. Catawba's Kylie Morgan answered with 27 kills in the losing effort as sets one and four went to the Bears by a 30-28 margin.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
• Prall also had 22 kills against Queens a season ago, but that came in a five-setter. The junior added 10 digs for her second double-double of the season.
• Freshman
Emily Jordan was a force in her South Atlantic Conference debut, coming off the bench to finish with 11 kills and seven digs. Jordan hit a game-high .421 and added a pair of blocks.

Helen Hamilton dished out 42 assists and added three kills and seven digs.
Ashley Hawkins contributed a team-high 20 digs.

Hannah Houston had seven kills and 11 digs for the Bears who overcame a 24-22 deficit in the first set to steal a momentum-shifting victory.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• Catawba tried to return the favor with a comeback in the fourth set but fell just short. The Indians were down 23-18 and rallied to take a 26-25 advantage but Jordan's game-winning kill sent the Indians home.
• The Bears have won five straight against Catawba and are 11-2 in the last 13 matchups.
• LR lost their first set of the season when the Indians took the second set 25-21.
UP NEXT:
LR returns to action on Friday night as they host Queens at 7 p.m. Each of the two matches between LR and Queens went five sets last year with the Bears winning each time.
