HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team dropped a 3-0 decision to open the 2019 campaign against No. 25 Limestone on Thursday evening. Limestone has now topped LR in the first match of the season each of the past two years after LR won in 2017.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- Despite trailing 1-0 at the break, the Bears held a 9-5 advantage in shots in the first 45 minutes.
- Limestone netted the game-winner in the 25th minute as Sebastian Marx headed a corner from Roberto Ortega Lopez past the Bears keeper.
- Tristyn de Laaf would add a pair of second half scores to extend the Saints lead to three.
- The Bears out shot the Saints 12-11 led by Goncalo Garcia with three.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Today's matchup will be the last non-conference game between the teams as Limestone will be a SAC member next year.
- September 5 is the latest the Bears have started their season since also starting on September 5 in 2013.
