JEFFERSON CITY, TENN. --- Despite leading for the vast majority of the game, the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball Team suffered a crushing 70-69 last-second loss at the hands of Carson-Newman on Wednesday evening. The Eagles EJ Bush put back a missed shot with 0.6 left on the clock to steal a victory from the Bears.

Stats of the Game:
- The Bears only trailed for 38 seconds in the game and never trailed in the second half until the final put back. Despite having the lead, LR was never able to extend it past nine points in the final half as the two SAC foes battled the whole way.
- LR shot 48.2 percent from the field in this one and C-N hit 46.7 percent of their shots. Each team knocked down eight 3-pointers. The Bears finished with 17 assists, compared to just six for the hosts but the Eagles outrebounded the Bears 35-29.
- R.J Gunn led Lenoir-Rhyne with 17 points and Darius Simmons added 12. Mason Hawks hit three straight three-pointers and came up with a huge steal with less than a minute to play that looked like it saved the game. Davion Bradford added 10 and six boards.
- Tripp Davis went off for 24 points for the Eagles on 9-of-16 shooting and added three assists. Bush had 13 points and 13 boards and Kaleb Wallace had 12 points off the bench.
- 18 of Davis' 24 came in the second half where he went 6-for-9. Bush grabbed 10 of his boards in the final 20 minutes.
- Both teams took great care of the ball in this contest. LR turned it over just 10 times and the Eagles gave it away on nine occasions.
Beyond the Box Score:
- This is just the third two-game winning streak for Carson-Newman this season.
- Despite the win, the Eagles still sit two games outside of eighth place with only the top eight making the conference tournament. The Bears are tied with Newberry and Mars Hill for sixth place.
- The Bears are 6-6 on the road but 3-6 in league road games.
- The 13 rebounds for Bush ties the second-most in his career.
- Hawks' three triples give him 55 on the season and put him over 100 for his career.
