Eric Dickinson became the all-time leading goal scorer in Lenoir-Rhyne and South Atlantic Conference history with his first goal of the game but the No. 16 Bears fell at No. 6 Belmont Abbey by a final score of 12-7 on Friday afternoon. Dickinson's 142nd goal broke the record of former teammate
Joe Buduo who found the back of the net 141 times in his four years.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Dickinson finished the game with five of his team's seven goals and added an assist for a six-point afternoon. Dickinson is now just three points from becoming the all-time leader in that category as well.

Edward Tate and
Toron Eccleston scored the other LR goals. Austin Hasen (four goals) and Noah Haas (three goals) paced the Crusaders.
• The Bears held a commanding 51-34 advantage in shots but only put 23 of those shots on goal. Dickinson fired 21 shots in the contest.
• LR went 24-of-25 on clears in the game and held a slim 12-11 advantage in face offs. Belmont Abbey would take advantage of five extra man opportunities, scoring three times. LR was 0-for-2 with the extra man.
• Abbey started and finished strong today. The Crusaders outscored LR 5-1 in the first quarter and then 4-1 in the fourth quarter. Belmont Abbey never trailed in the game and held LR off the scoreboard for a 22:28 stretch in the second half.
• The Bears briefly drew even with four straight goals in the second quarter to tie the game at five but Haas put the Crusaders up for good with a man-up goal in the second quarter.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• LR is now 12-21 all-time against ranked teams.
• LR falls to 3-6 all-time against Belmont Abbey including a 1-4 mark at Alumni Field.
• Belmont Abbey has won two straight in the head-to-head matchup. The Crusaders came into Hickory last year and left with a 21-15 victory.
• LR is now 30-25 all-time in road games.
