Hickory, N.C.-- Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Tennis fell in a back-and-forth match with No. 23 North Georgia, nearly pulling off the upset but falling 4-3.
On the singles side,
Josh Lazenby led LR winning No.2 singles defeating Ostap 6-4,3-6,6-1. Eric van Nunen also had a strong showing going the distance winning 4-6,6-3,10-7.
On the doubles side,
Rhodri Atkinson and Lazenby had a strong effort winning in doubles 6-4 over Gaskin/Candido.
Mauricio Hernandez and
Alex Hyman also contributed defeating Ostap/Laishley 6-4.
Head Coach
Jesse Tarr talked about how close of a contest this was.
"Credit goes to North Georgia today," Coach Tarr said. "This was a highly contested match and they won it. We had some very good performances today in doubles and also by Josh and Eric in singles."
The Bears next match will be tomorrow February 23 against Methodist at home.
