Newberry, S.C.--Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball team fell to Newberry 74-70 in the Bears last road game of the regular season. The Bears got 21 points from
Kennedy Weigt on the night.

- After Newberry opened a twelve point lead in the opening quarter, the Bears battled back with a 7-0 and a 8-0 run in the second quarter to tie Newberry at 34 at the half.
- Wolves used a strong 4th quarter to pull away from the Bears. Newberry started the quarter with an 11-2 run to open an eight point lead.
- Kennedy Weigt lead the Bears with 21 points. The junior played 36 minutes on the afternoon, going 6-12 from the floor and 7-8 from the free-throw line. It was Weigt's fourth twenty point game of the year.
- Karlie Bearden and Nakia Hooks were also in double figures for the Bears. Bearden had 14 points while Hooks had 10.
- Hooks lead the Bears in rebound for the first time this year with seven, one off her career high.
- Bears struggled from the third-point line, only shooting 3 from 15 for 20%, while the Wolves went 9-27 (33.3%)
- LR did not have any blocks on the afternoon for only the third time this season. Bearden leads the Bears and is second in the SAC with 44 blocks on the year.
- Bears went 21-24 from the field throw line. It's the second time the Bears shot at least 87% from the line with at least 20 free throws made.
Beyond the Box Score:
- Bears split the season series with Newberry. The Bears won in Hickory on January 11.
- The Wolves have not allow any SAC opponent to sweep them this season so far.
- Karlie Bearden has 199 rebounds so far on the season. This would be the first time the senior eclipses the 200 rebounds mark in her career.
- LR remains in 8th place in the SAC with two games remaining. Sixth through ninth place is only separated by one game.
