Anderson, S.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team used 23 runs on Saturday to sweep the Trojans in a doubleheader on Saturday and earned the road series win from the Trojans.
Will Jones went 5-10 with a HR and 8 RBIs on the day to help the Bears to the sweep.

STATS OF GAME ONE:
- David Bell got the Bears started early, Bell had two hits and the games first three RBIs by the third inning. Bell finished the game 2-5 with a double and 3 RBIs.
- After Anderson took the lead with four runs in the 4th inning, the Bears took the lead for good with a three-run seventh inning. Jones and Mike McHugh had huge two-out RBI hits to gave the Bears a 6-4 lead.
- LR put the game away with a four-run ninth, where the Bears only had one hit. The Bears took advantage of two errors by the Trojans to cap the game.
- Alex Shirazi went 6 innings to pick up his third win on the year. Shirazi allowed 6 hits, 4 runs while striking out seven hitters.
- Michael Allen, Brett Fulk and Joshua Lanham pitched the last three innings for the Bears. The trio only allowed one unearned while Lanham picked up his first career save.
- Bell, Jones, Xander Ferlenda, and Connor Smith all had two hits for the Bears. Those four Bears combined for 8 of the teams 11 hits.
STATS OF GAME TWO:
- Game two saw the Bears score 10 runs in the first three innings and the first 13 of the game before holding off a late comeback attempt from the Trojans. Anderson scored eight runs in the bottom of the 5th and cut the lead to 13-9 and had the bases loaded in the 6th.
- Will Jones had a career high 6 RBis in the game. Jones had single RBIs in the first, second and third before hitting a 3-run homerun in the 5th.
- McHugh also hit a 3-run homerun. McHugh connected for his third homerun in the first and finished the day 1-4 with 4 RBIs.
- Ferlenda had a strange box score. Ferlenda scored a career high four runs but went hitless on the game.
- Starter Jarrod Large picked up the win for the Bears. Large evened his record to 2-2 on the season.
- Andrew Dye, Hayden Gresham and Trevor Smisek throw up zeros out of the bullpen for the Bears.
- The Bears pitching did survive nine free passes on the afternoon.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Alex Shirazi has a 2.35 era through his last three starts for the Bears including a pair of wins in conference.
- McHugh actually hit his third homerun on Wednesday but with the game being suspended, the homerun will not count until the game is completed.
- There were 14 errors combined by the teams in the three game set. Trojans had nine including four in each game today.
- The win snaps the Bears four game losing streak.
