Lauren Rakes each hit homeruns and the Bears used 13 hits to beat Hillsdale 9-1 Sunday afternoon.Â

STATS OF GAME:
- Bears got it started in the Bottom of the 1st, scoring four runs all with two outs. Lora Beth Wood, Lauren Rakes, Hannah Jennings and Ashten Hinkle each had RBI singles.Â
- In the Bottom of the 3rd, Lauren Rakes connected on her first collegiate homerun giving the Bears a 5-0 lead. Â
- It was Talon LaClair turn in the 4th, LaClair connected on her second of the year; a two-run shot giving the Bears a 7-1 lead.
- Wood added her second RBI single of the game later in the 4th to extend the lead to 8-1
- Mackensi Swain walked it off with an RBI single in the bottom of the 5th for the 9-1 win.
- Mary Anna Clement got the win in the circle for the Bears, Clement starting her first game as a Bear went the distance. Clement only allowed 1 run on 2 hits and struck out 6.Â
- Six Bears had at least two hits for the Bears and six Bears had an RBI on the day.Â
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Hillsdale is a member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Hillsdale was selected to finish second in this year's preseason pool behind Walsh.
- These two teams met for the first time last year in Clearwater, Florida. Hillsdale scored a run in the first and second before holding off the Bears for a 2-1 victory.
- Savannah Moorefield hitting streak ended at 10 games dating back to last year.Â
- Talon LaClair RBI in the 4th was her 80th career RBI
- Lora Beth Wood has now hit safely in all five games.
