Wingate, N.C.-- Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Swimming traveled and competed in the Wingate's quad-meet Friday afternoon. The Bears joined Catawba,UNC Pembroke and the host Wingate at Wingate University Natatorium. The Bears finished with a victory over Catawba 150-85 but the Bears fell to UNC Pembroke and Wingate.
The Bears got the event started with a 5th place finish in the 200 medley relay. The team consist of
Kiana Schumacher,
Kimberly Scheiber, and
Lisa Boernigen and
Lauren Rutherford finished with a time of 1:53.41.
Lisa Boernigen had the Bears best finish of the afternoon with a second place in the 100 freestyle (53.37). Boernigen also had a 4th place finish in the 100 butterfly (59.53).
Kelsey Krumanocker finished 4th for the Bears in the 100 freestyle with a 11:22.28 time.
The Bears will return home for their first and only home meet of the year next Friday against Mars Hill at 4:00 PM. This will be the Bears final tune-up before the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championship that will be held from February 18th to the 22nd.
