Hickory, N.C.- Four Bears recorded their career highs in points as the Bears topped the Royals 78-66 Monday evening.
Sydney Wilson (18),
Addisen DeLucas (18),
Mallory Sherrill (11) and
Korbin Tipton (8) all had career highs to lead the Bears. In addition, DeLucas and
Nakia Hooks each had their first career double-double as assistant coach
Audrey Timmerman served as acting Head Coach to lead the Bears to victory.

STATS AND INFO:
-The Bears only had eight active players tonight with DeLucas and Woodroffe playing all 40 minutes for the Bears this evening.
-After playing three home games in the season's first fifty days, the Bears will play three home games in the next six days starting tonight.
-This is Queens first game in 22 days. They last played on January 3 against Furman.
-With the win tonight, LR is now 17-3 in their last 20 games against Queens. Queens has not won in Hickory since January 21, 2015, a span of six games.
FIRST HALF:
-LR came out shooting 50% from the floor in the first (7-14) and second quarters (8-16). Bears dominated in the paint scoring 24 of their 36 points in the paint. Wilson and Hooks combined for 22 points in the first half, 20 of the 22 points came from within the paint.
-The Bears outscored the Royals 13-0 from the bench in the first half. Queens only went seven deep with Andrea Shire only playing 45 seconds in the half.
-Bears pounded the glass with a 23-15 rebound advantage in the half including 11 second chance points.
SECOND HALF:
-LR continued their hot shooting in the second half. Shooting 52% (13-25) in the second half to finish with a season high 50.9% from the floor including 42% from three.
-After the Royals cut the lead to two entering the fourth quarter and then got within one at 61-60 with 6:51 left, the Bears went on an 8-0 run that included a layup by Wilson then
Korbin Tipton and DeLucas hit back to back three pointers to give the Bears a 69-60 lead. Queens could not get any closer as the Bears stretched their lead to 14 before closing it out.
-Bears continued to rebound well, finishing with a 43-28 advantage on the glass. At least four different Bears had five rebounds on the night.
-DeLucas stuffed the box score tonight finishing with 18 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals all career highs for the senior from Harrisonburg, VA.
ABOUT THE BEARS:

Nakia Hooks finished the night with 13 points and 10 rebounds in 36 minutes of action. Hooks has averaged 13.5 points and 7 rebounds in her last two games for the Bears.

Ashley Woodroffe saw her first action of the season playing all 40 minutes, Woodroffe finished with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The 6 assists tied her career high for the sophomore guard.
-LR had 18 assists on their 28 baskets tonight lead by Woodroffe (6), DeLucas (5), Hooks (4) all reaching career high in assists.
-78 points is a season high for the Bears and the most points scored since scoring 81 points in a win against Mars Hill last February 26.
-In that win against Mars HIll, Hooks just missed her first career double-double finishing with 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Korbin Tipton received her first action of her career as the freshman scored 8 points and added 5 rebounds in 22 minutes of action off the bench for LR.
NOTABLE ROYALS:
-Five Royals finished in double figures, paced by 14 points by Christina Deng. Deng was only limited to 21 minutes due to foul trouble.
-Amari David added 9 rebounds for the Royals but went 1-8 from the field.
-Royals shot the ball very well in the first and third quarter (51%) but struggled from the floor in the second and fourth quarter (19%). Royals shot 3-15 in the fourth quarter in attempt at the comeback.
