Men's Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw with Tusculum

Greeneville,Tenn.--The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer team played to a 1-1 draw on Sunday evening at Tusculum. Victor Cascon scored the Bears lone goal in the contest.

STATS OF THE MATCH:

  • The Bears stuck first with a Victor Cascon goal in the 3rd minute.
  • Tusculum got the equalizer in the 34th minute to even the contest.
  • After that goal, The game remained scoreless for the last 76 minutes. 
  • Bears outshot the Pioneers 19-13, which included 13 shots on goal.
  • Pioneers' Goalie Rayane Mehdi got credit for nine saves, while the Pioneers had three additional team saves.
  • Camden Coleman's four saves tied a career high for the sophomore goalkeeper.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • Cascon's goal was his 31st career goal, which has him two shy of second place in program history. 
  • This is the second straight tie between these programs. In the last meeting on September 21, 2019 in Hickory, the teams played to a 1-1 tie as well. 
  • Third straight season the Bears have had at least one tie during the regular season.
  • Bears remain in third place in the SAC with 16 points with three SAC games left.
