Newberry, S.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer team dropped a road SAC game 2-1 to host Newberry on Saturday. Diego Delgado scored the Bears lone goal on the afternoon.

STATS OF THE MATCH:

• Wolves did not waste anytime getting on the board scoring in the first minute. Harry McDonell got the goal of a Newberry corner kick for the early lead. 
• The Bears got even with their own corner kick right before half. Jaime Poza set up Diego Delgado to even the score in the 44th. It was Delgado's first goal of the season. 
• The Wolves got the game winner from Ethan Orozco off a free kick in the 88th minute to gave Newberry the 2-1 win. 
• The Bears outshot the Wolves 17-8 on the afternoon with ten shots on goal but could only find the back of the net once. 
• Wolves goal keeper Pablo Cubas made nine saves on the afternoon. 

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

• Delgado's goal was his second career goal.
• Today's loss was the Bears first SAC Conference road loss since losing at Wingate 1-0 on October 19, 2019.
• The loss also snaps a five game winning streak against Newberry.
• Today is Cascon's 70th career match for the Bears, which moved him for a tie for sixth place in program history.
