Hickory, N.C.--The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer scored the last two goals of the game to upset No.20 Chowan 2-1 in overtime on Wednesday afternoon. Jaime De Manuel scored the game winner with thirty seconds left in the first overtime period to gave the Bears the huge regional win over the Hawks.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- After a LR foul in the box, Chowan's Toby Sims got the Hawks on the board with a penalty shot in the 27th minute. The goal was Sims' 11th goal of the season.
- The Bears got the equalizer in the 50th minute off a free kick from Harri Rowe that Dani Fernandez headed into the goal to tie it at 1-1. The goal was Fernandez's first of the year.
- The game remained tied until the last minute of the first overtime period when Nicolas Bohigues sent it to Jaime De Manuel. de Manuel controlled the ball and spun around and delivered a strike from about 25 yards out to beat Chowan's Charlie Farrar to his right as the ball snuck into the corner to give the Bears the 2-1 win.
- Bears out shot the Hawks 14-8 on the afternoon and held the Hawks shot less in the overtime period.
- Juan Basabe got his first win in goal this year for the Bears making two saves in the first half.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The NCAA Super Region 2 Regional rankings came out during the contest and it saw Chowan come in at No.8, while the Bears came in at No. 10 in the initial rankings.
- The win is Head Coach Jack Winter's 54th career victory, which moves him into a tie for third place all-time in program history.
- The win is also the program's 315th career win.
- The Bears finished 2-0 against Conference Carolinas teams this year.
- With the win today, the Bears are now 6-4 against ranked opponents in their last ten games including a 2-1 mark this year.
- LR moves to 5-2-9 in overtime games in the Winter era.
