HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball team swept the visiting Queens Royals on Saturday afternoon to extend their winning streak to six game.
Taylor Prall led the Bears with 16 kills, while
Madison Asher tied a career high with 10 kills.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- The Bears led throughout the first set on their way to a 25-19 win. The Bears outhit the Royals .289 to .147. Taylor Prall had six of her game high 16 kills in the first set.
- After a 3-3 tie in the second frame, the Bears rattled off 10 of the next 13 points to take control of the second set. Ashley Hawkins had four kills in the set for the Bears.
- The Bears hit a game high .333 in the third set, while the Royals hit a game low -.029 as the Bears jumped out to a 7-1 lead and cruised to the sweep on the afternoon.
- Asher, playing in her first game since September 14, tied a career high with 10 kills on the afternoon.
- Rachel Bewick (13), Hawkins (12) and Prall (11) all had double digits in digs in the three set win.
- Helen Hamilton had 21 assists on the afternoon for the Bears.
- Queens did have six blocks compared to just four for the LR.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- LR took both games against Queens this year for the first time since the 2018 season. Both games in 2018 saw the Bears win in five sets.
- Today's win was the third straight sweep over SAC opponents, the first time the Bears have done that since a stretch in the 2017 season.
- The win was the Bears 12th SAC conference win of the season. LR has not reached that mark since winning 18 games in the 2015 season.
- With 12 digs and six kills, Ashley Hawkins went over 250 digs and 100 kills on the season. It was the first time the senior has went over the 100 kill mark in her LR career.
