Hickory, N.C.-- The Catawba Indians scored three second half goals to come back and beat the Bears 3-2 on a rainy Wednesday evening.
Jaheim Smith scored his first career goal and
Benjamin Gnieser scored his second goal of the season in the loss.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- Bears wasted no time getting on the board, with a perfect cross from Harri Rowe right to the left foot of Benjamin Gnieser, who tapped it in for the quick 1-0 lead in the 3rd minute.
- Jaheim Smith got his first career goal in the 40th minute from a double pass from Victor Cascon and Noah Tiefel.
- The second half was all Indians through as Catawba scored three goals in less then twenty minutes to battle all way back.
- In the 61st minute, Catawba's Nico Morillo scored his 4th goal of the year from a cross from Tom Savigar.
- A free kick in the 76th minute tied the game as Savigar tapped in the goal off the rebound.
- Savigar picked up his second assist and his fourth point with a pass to Salano Birch to give the Indians the lead and eventually the game.
- Bears had a chance to tie it with two minutes left but Tiefel's shot went just wide.
- LR outshot the Indians 14-7 and Catawba only had four shots on goal on the evening.
- Each team committed six offsides on the evening.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Tonight was the 45th all-time meeting with Catawba. Bears have only played Wingate (47 times) more in their program history.
- The lost snaps a six game winning streak against Catawba.
- It was actually17 years to the day the last time the Bears lost to Catawba in Hickory.
- Tonight was Carles Montoliu Lobo's 50th career game as a Bear. Montoliu Lobo has not missed a game in his four year career.
- Game had a lighting delay in the 22nd minute which lasted 56 minutes.
- Cascon now has at least one point in five straight game, one off his career best streak of six, which he has done twice (2018, 2020-21).
