Newberry, S.C.--Despite shooting a season high 58% from the floor, the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball team could not overcome a season-high 24 turnovers as the Bears fell to Newberry 72-61.
Emily Harman lead the Bears with 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists on the night. The freshman has now scored 50 points in her last two games for LR.

--LR falls to 0-8 on the road this season with today's loss and is now on a twelve game road losing streak.
-Today's game marked the 1,350th game in LR history and the Bears have a 719-624-7 all-time record.
-These two teams will meet again next Monday in Hickory for the Bears final home game of the year.

FIRST HALF:
-The Wolves combo of Payton Cronen and Courtney Virgo each hit a pair of threes and were 4-4 from the arc in the quarter to help the Wolves take an 18-14 lead after one.

Emily Harman and
Mallory Sherrill each had a half-dozen after one period for the Bears.
-LR opened the second quarter with a 9-0 run to take a 23-18 lead with 7 minutes left but Newberry made a late charge to tie it up at the break.
-The Bears shot 75% in the half, their best shooting percentage of any half this year but twelve first half turnovers limited their possessions in the first twenty minutes.
-LR dominated the glass with a 16-7 rebounding advantage in the first 20 minutes.
Sydney Wilson grabbed five rebounds in the half to lead the Bears.
SECOND HALF:
-LR shot 3-for-10 in the third quarter as Newberry raced out to an early third quarter lead. Newberry got eight third quarter points from Madison Golden off the bench. Newberry held a 32-20 advantage in bench scoring in the game.
-The Bears could not get closer then six points in the 4th quarter as Newberry stretched their lead to 16 points in the quarter.
-Newberry shot 47% from the floor in the half and went 9-10 from the charity stripe in the final twenty minutes.
-Newberry forced twelve more turnovers in the half and had 23 points off turnovers tonight.
ABOUT THE BEARS:
-The Bears went 1-6 from long range on the evening. The six attempts was a season-low for the Bears, who entered the game with at least 14 three-pointers attempted in each game so far.
-One made three-pointers was the lowest Lenoir-Rhyne has made since going 0-7 against Anderson on January 8, 2017, a span of 109 games.
-The Bears came into action 4th in the SAC in fewest turnovers per game at 15.2 but 24 the turnovers tonight were a season-high.
-Sherrill joined Harman in double-figures scoring 15 points on 6-9 shooting for the redshirt freshman. Sherrill added five rebounds as well.
NOTABLE WOLVES:
-The Wolves had 11 different players score tonight led by Virgo's 11 points followed by ten points from Golden and Kelsey Brett.
-Virgo and Cronen came into the game as the two leading scorers for the Wolves. The duo averages 82% of their points from long range. Tonight they went 6-10 from deep as 18 of their 20 points came from long range.
-Keli Romas added 8 points, 5 rebounds (3 Offensive) and 4 assists for Newberry.
